Title: Energy Engineer Intern – Work Placement/Internship

Reports To: Service Manager

Based At: Ivernia Hall, 97 Henry Street, Limerick


Job Purpose:

  • To plan and carry out field operation department activities as indicated in key responsibilities and accountabilities below.
  • To maintain and develop customer support, in accordance with agreed business practices.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Maintain and develop a computerised customer and support database – this allows for direct contact with large amounts of industry based customers all of whom demand excellent customer service
  • Respond to and follow-up on customer enquiries by email, telephone, and site visits. Site visits may require trips throughout the country with paid overnight stays
  • Monitor & report on field operation activities to provide relevant management information. Identification of efficient practices is imperative and a task that all in the operations department actively undertake
  • Investigate root causes of data loss from field hardware using modified analytics
  • Take your writing skills to another level if you wish to support our sales team by creating written pieces
  • Great opportunity if interested to actively contribute to the company’s energy blog on important energy sector issues
  • Carry out bench testing for new product lines using latest industry hardware. Perfect for those who love to tinker with new and exciting products
  • Formulate standard operating procedures, which will require the intern to think (outside the box) and reflect. This will enable the intern to think critically about how an operations department can run efficiently
  • Prepare Quality Assurance documentation – important for all aspects of corporate operation
  • Creation of customer lists for marketing, an invaluable resource and an excellent insight into how marketing departments run
  • Gain understanding of deployment procedures and follow through with onsite visits. Enables intern to see how effectively a procedure is implemented
  • Creation of energy review for customers. Very necessary to be able to create an exciting report for customers. We collect the data and it is quite rewarding to be able to show them what they can do in terms of energy and cost saving opportunities. Skills Requirements:

  • To plan and carry out field operation department activities as indicated in key responsibilities and accountabilities below.
  • To maintain and develop customer support, in accordance with agreed business practices.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel & Word
  • Willingness to try new things
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team to deadlines
  • Self-motivated and ready to work in a fast paced environment
  • A valuable plus if interested in electronics
  • A plus if interested in creative writing
  • The right candidate will be available for 6 to 9 months
