Government funding is available for up to €50,000 for the capital costs associated with Energy Monitoring and Tracking, as part of an overall fund of €55 million to help businesses move away from the use of fossil fuels.
The Green Transition Fund is EU funded and part of Ireland’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).
The Green Transition Fund comprises:
1. The Climate Planning Fund for Business
The Climate Planning Fund for Business will provide firms with funding to help them plan how they can reduce reliance on fossil fuels in their business.
Climate Action Voucher: A grant of €1,800 will be provided for the development of a sustainability/decarbonisation plan via independent technical or advisory services.
The grant is available to Enterprise Ireland clients; Údarás na Gaeltachta clients.
GreenPlus: Up to €50,000 match funding will be granted to help Access an external environmental expert to develop a high level of environmental management capabilities, drive environmental efficiencies and achieve improved sustainability.

2. The Enterprise Emissions Reduction Investment Fund
The Enterprise Emissions Reduction Investment Fund will give manufacturing businesses funding to invest in smart metering and energy monitoring.
Capital investment in Energy Metering: A minimum grant of €5,000, up to a maximum of €50,000 (subject to a max grant matching rate of 50% of eligible costs). To incentivise companies to put in place monitoring and targeting systems to begin accounting for the carbon footprint of their activities.
The grant is available to Enterprise Ireland, Údarás na Gaeltachta and IDA Ireland manufacturing clients.
Research, Development and Innovation: A minimum grant of €5,000, up to a maximum of €50,000 (subject to a max grant matching rate of 50% of eligible costs). Assistance to carry out explorative work assessing the resource requirements and the SWOT analysis of a potential sustainability R&D projects.
The grant is available to IDA Ireland, Enterprise Ireland and Údarás na Gaeltachta Clients.

The funding was officially launched by Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar and Minister of State for Land Use and Biodiversity Senator Pippa Hackett.
The programme, which will run over five years, is part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan funded by the EU.
